This course applies to anyone operating a loading shovel (tracked or wheeled) in the construction industry or any other land based industry.
Novice Operators 1 - 5 days training course
Experience Operators - this can vary depending on experience, assesments available for experienced operators.
Loading Shovel Plant Training Couse
Training Includes:
Names of all components purpose of use and all controls and guages, basic construction.
Use of the operators hand book etc.
Pre-use, start, running checks and close down procedure.
Preparing the shovel for site and road travel.
Travel the shovel over different types of terrain included underlating ground, up and down substanial declines.
Manoeuvring progress to confined spaces in a forward and reverse direction.
Positioning and preparing the machine for work.
Precautions and actions for underground/overground services and other hazards.
Soil and material characteristics.
Excavating below and above ground.
Loading vehicles and hoppers.
Backfilling, grading, spreading and levelling different types of terrain.
Removal/Re-attachment of different buckets.
Placing the shovel in and out of service condition.
Loading/Unloading procedures on and off a transporter.
Health and Safety.
Trained operator test.
